Applications
Requirements
To enter the program, students must have a solid background in biology, and a good command of spoken and written English (for a direct application in the second year - M2) or English AND FRENCH (for an application in the first year - M1).
Application
There are many ways to apply, according to your curriculum and your nationality.
1) Apply for a scholarship and for the master program at the same time (from December to mid-January): http://www.ens-lyon.fr/en/studies/admissions
2) Apply for the master program (a few additional scholarships might be offered to foreign students arriving in France): http://www.ens-lyon.fr/en/studies/admissions
3) If you are already studying in France or if you do not need a visa to live in France, please switch to the French version of this page (applications from mid-may to mid-June).
In all cases, you will need to provide:
a letter explaining the reasons for your application, giving your scientific interests, and briefly describing previous internships;
a curriculum vitae;
university transcripts for all courses taken since leaving high school, preferably mentioning your ranking and the number of students in the program or the minimal and maximal grades in the courses/program;
the certification of your level in English (if you have not studied in English) and/or in French (if you have not studied in French and you are applying for the first year);
if you apply for a direct enrolment in the second year: a letter from a laboratory stating that they accept you for an internship (January-May: you may contact laboratories in Lyon, see /biologie/masterbiosciences/offres-de-stages) or elsewhere.
